Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Uppal spent 12 years with the FSI Digital and Customer Transformation team at KPMG Lower Gulf, serving most recently as Director. He helped scale the FSI practice, adding new solutions, launching new digital and FinTech capabilities and partnering to deliver turnaround solutions. Working with UAE financial services regulators and large commercial banks, Mr. Uppal helped conceptualize and implement an e-KYC utility (FinTech product) that received a FinTech innovation award. He also handled an enterprise-wide transformation and strategy implementation program for the Central Bank of the UAE, including setting-up and activating a transformation management office.

Previously, Mr. Uppal developed a customer experience (CX) strategy and digital banking improvement plan for one of the largest UAE commercial banks; managed business transformation and operational excellence for a UAE bank involving front- middle- and back-office functions; designed, implemented and launched the first-ever GCC Digital Pension Platform for a UAE federal government entity; and assisted banks in developing market-entry strategy for launching operations in the UAE supported by a regulatory business plan. He also spent three years with Deloitte’s Financial Services Advisory Practice, working with banks, investment companies and public sector entities. 

Mr. Uppal earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Delhi University, India and an MBA (finance and marketing concentration) from IMT Ghaziabad, India. He holds Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Chief Scrum Master, Prince 2 Project Management and Customer Experience certifications.
