He brings more than 13 years of international experience, working extensively across more than 20 countries in Europe in the energy (upstream, midstream, downstream), utilities, financial services, digital, gaming, advertising, medical and manufacturing industries.
At A&M, Mr. Carella has supported major international EPC companies in cash management and restructuring plan development. He recently supported the construction division of a South African listed conglomerate company in the implementation of a direct cash flow forecast methodology and a disciplined cash management process. Mr. Carella also worked in Spain with Isolux Corsàn on the development of the restructuring plan and a cash management tool.
Mr. Carella has also served as Interim Group Treasury Manager, facing debt maturity and cash flow issues, developing a 13-week cash flow model and management reporting on their financial restructuring. Earlier, he assisted top PE firms with financial due diligence activities in connection with the potential acquisition of targets in several industries.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Carella worked as Manager at Booz&Co (now PwC) a strategy consulting firm. Here, he led several turnarounds, cost-saving strategy, business plan preparation and transformation projects. Notable assignments include the preparation of the feasibility study of an onshore LNG terminal in Europe and preparation for the transformation program of the Gas & Power Retail Division of an integrated energy group.
Prior to Booz&Co, Mr. Carella spent six years in the office of E&P Division COO of ENI, a major integrated international energy company. In this role, he coordinated special management projects, including M&A opportunities, investor relations, project start-ups, performance improvement initiatives and relations with partners and public authorities. He also served as Planning, Control and JV Manager of ENI’s Iranian affiliated company, drawing up financial statements using IFRS, preparing four-year business plans and quarterly forecasts for a $1.5 billion development project
Mr. Carella earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees, cum laude, in business administration from Bologna University. An Italian national, he is fluent in Italian and English, has a good knowledge of Spanish and a basic level of French. He is a Certified Public Accountant (“Dottore Commercialista”).
