Andrew Carroll is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group in Boston. With more than eight years of mergers and acquisitions experience, he brings expertise in providing buy-side financial due diligence services to private equity investors and their portfolio companies.

He has led or participated in more than 100 large and middle market transactions across a wide variety of industries, including professional services, media and entertainment, manufacturing, and distribution.

Mr. Carroll’s primary focus is on determining acquisition targets' quality of earnings and working capital requirements through analysis of financial data and discussions with management to assist with the determination of purchase price. He also identifies key performance indicators and trends to determine the sustainability of earnings and the growth potential of acquisition targets. He ensures that acquisition and financing agreements reflect the proper deal structure and coincide with financial due diligence findings.

Mr. Carroll has also evaluated both investor and management forecast models, performed synergy / cost savings determination analyses and completed carve-out / stand-alone assessments.

Before A&M, Mr. Carroll was a manager of transaction advisory services with Ernst & Young (E&Y) in Chicago, New York and Boston, where he led or participated in financial due diligence projects for large and middle-market private equity investors, as well as Fortune 500 companies. In this role, he managed the delivery of services to private equity funds, including the coordination of transaction tax, operation due diligence and human resource consulting.

Earlier, he was with the assurance and advisory business services practice of E&Y in Boston and Chicago, where he performed audit assignments for public and private high growth companies.

Mr. Carroll earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lehigh University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
