Alex Duff is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in New York. He serves as the practice’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the U.S. team.

As CFO, Mr. Duff manages the budgeting and forecasting processes, compensation processes, and P&L and KPI reporting. In addition, he advises on project profitability and pipeline processes while controlling overhead spending.

Prior to rejoining A&M, Mr. Duff held leadership roles with Blink Health, a healthcare technology company, where he worked on finance, strategy, and fundraising/investor relations.

Previously, Mr. Duff served as a Director with A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in New York. His project work spanned finance, operations, and strategy and included interim management roles, performance improvement, and transformations. 

Prior to this, Mr. Duff spent a decade in professional services and finance with Bain & Company, CDG Group (acquired by FTI), and Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Duff earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance (honors) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA (with distinction) from the Tuck Business School at Dartmouth College where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar.
