Mr. Ponciano has worked on transactions in a wide range of industries including infrastructure, telecommunication, automotive, agribusiness, chemical, education, retail, healthcare and food industry among others.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Ponciano worked for 18 years with KPMG. Mr. Ponciano was a Partner in KPMG’s tax transaction advisory services practice based in São Paulo where he was also one of the leaders of the M&A tax practice in Brazil. He led a team of around 30 people, and was one of the original founders of the M&A tax group in Brazil.

Throughout his career he has been involved in many relevant projects such as the entry in the Brazilian Market of clients like Wal-Mart, Heinz, Celesio and also served important clients in other M&A activities such as McDonald’s, Cargill, ADM, Siemens, General Atlantic, KKR, Telefonica, ITW, among others.

Mr. Ponciano has broad experience in assisting companies with transactions, including tax due diligence, identification of tax contingencies, and post transaction tax integration, compliance, and planning.

Mr. Ponciano earned a law degree from Universidade de São Paulo and a MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral. Mr. Ponciano speaks fluent Portuguese and English.
