Mr. Walker has focused on delivering scale operating model transformation, operational performance enhancement and leading change across a wide variety of businesses and challenges, as well as executing business improvement in all types of macro environments.

Most recently, Mr. Walker worked as Divisional Chief Operating Officer with a major international bank, transforming their operating model leading to the delivery of cost down budget in all years; headcount reducing by 20%; optimization of the total contingent contractor workforce from 4,000 to 1,000 FTE; working practices transformed from 10% to 55% agile; tech deployments increasing threefold; rationalizing and consolidating the property footprint into six major hubs; and was responsible for the supply chain across 1,000 tech vendors and outsourced human capital providers both domestically and overseas.

Additionally, Mr. Walker served as the Group Investment Officer with responsibility for the allocation, delivery oversight, cost management, operational performance and strategic, risk and financial optimization of commercial results for a three year, £10 billion, strategic investment plan. The plan was largely focused on technology enabled customer propositions for the U.K.’s leading digital retail, commercial and insurance banking business.

Furthermore, Mr. Walker has directed the successful turnaround in both profit and loss and balance sheet performance in the global transaction banking business of a major international bank. At the same time, he delivered a positive trajectory in customer NPS; a complete overhaul of the risk management practice; double-digit improvement in colleague engagement scores; and led the turnaround of the delivery program that supported the strategic investment in the business, whilst securing additional capital to build a market leading payment proposition that enabled successful access to new revenue opportunities. This business won a number of external awards, including the Greenwich Trade & Working Capital solutions provider of the year.
