Amanda Starr is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Atlanta, advising multi-state clients on various state and local tax matters, including income / franchise, sales and use, property and payroll taxes.

She also has experience in identifying unclaimed property issues for clients.

With more than 11 years of state and local tax experience, Ms. Starr has advised companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, software and financial services.

Before joining A&M, Ms. Starr had a two-year career with the Transaction Advisory Group of Ernst & Young. She also spent four years with the Sales and Use Tax Group of Ryan. Her background includes sales / use tax audit defense and reverse audits, state tax due diligence investigations, and merger and acquisition planning.

Ms. Starr earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, magna cum laude, with a concentration in accounting, from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. She is a Certified Member of the Institute (CMI) and a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT).
