Returning to Alvarez & Marsal and Executive Compensation

What drew you to return to A&M and how does it feel to be back?

Working on exciting engagements with great people is what drew me back. Every engagement brings a unique challenge, and I knew returning would allow me to continue learning from the talented colleagues here. It feels great to be back and pick up where I left off. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, which made the transition seamless and allowed me to hit the ground running. I have especially enjoyed reconnecting with former colleagues and meeting new team members.

You specialize in executive compensation and transaction-related work. How would you describe your focus area, and what do you enjoy most about it?

My focus is executive compensation, often centered on Section 280G calculations and the design and implementation of compensation plans, frequently in restructuring contexts. More recently, I have also supported proxy statement calculations.

I enjoy the dynamic nature of the work. Each project deepens my expertise in compensation while also strengthening client relationships. I value collaborating with teams across A&M, both locally and across geographies. The analytical, data-driven aspects are a major draw for me, and I am always looking for ways to enhance our technical processes.

Objectivity, Collaboration and Working Across Teams

Which A&M value do you identify with most, and why?

Objectivity resonates most with me. Much of my work is driven by data and interpreting that data objectively is essential to delivering value. A significant portion of what we do relies on market data and prevailing practices, where accuracy and credibility matter. At the same time, there is room to innovate and contribute new ideas, as long as they are grounded in facts.

You are based in Boulder, Colorado while much of your team is in Dallas, Texas. How has that shaped your experience?

Working across geographies can be challenging, but it has helped me expand my network and build strong relationships. My team is flexible and supportive, creating an environment where I have grown both professionally and personally. Community days in Dallas are especially valuable for connecting in person and strengthening collaboration.

Life Outside the Office and Advice for Alumni

Outside of work, how do you recharge?

I have always loved the outdoors and staying active. Living in Boulder gives me easy access to nature, and outdoor rock climbing is one of my favorite activities. Climbing requires focus, calm problem-solving, and resilience, qualities that translate directly into my work.

What advice would you give to someone considering a return to A&M?

Start the conversation. Even if you are just gathering information or curious about what has changed, reach out. My experience returning was incredibly positive, and I was able to jump back in quickly. I would encourage anyone considering it to explore the opportunity.
