• Nick Cowles joins as Managing Director to lead the new Group, strengthening A&M’s mid-market M&A offering

London, 8th April 2026 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) today announces it has launched a Public Company Advisory Group within its EMEA Corporate Finance practice, further broadening its mid-market offering and strengthening its capabilities to serve public company clients. Nick Cowles has joined as a Managing Director to lead the new Group.

This builds on the rapid expansion of A&M’s EMEA Corporate Finance team, which has grown to more than 160 professionals across 10 countries over the past three years. The new capability enhances A&M’s ability to advise its international clients across the full transaction lifecycle, including IPOs, public M&A and strategic advisory to listed companies.

Mr. Cowles brings more than 20 years of corporate finance experience, with deep expertise in public markets as a trusted adviser to many PLC boards, founders, management teams and private equity sponsors. He has advised on hundreds of stock market transactions, including over 50 IPOs, and has been involved in raising more than £5 billion of equity over the past 15 years. He joins from Zeus Capital, where he spent over two decades, most recently as CEO.

The Public Company Advisory Group will focus on three core areas: strategic advisory to PLC boards; IPO advisory, including support on dual-track processes; and public M&A, including defence and complex takeover situations. The group will work closely with A&M’s wider platform to provide integrated, independent advice across business lines.

The new group will initially be led from the UK, with ambitions to build a broader international presence over time as part of A&M’s global Corporate Finance platform.
