Mike Trenouth is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in London. He brings 30 years of experience in advising and implementing performance improvement programs for major corporations across a wide range of industry sectors. His primary areas of concentration are operational due diligence, 100 Day planning, post-merger integration and performance improvement.

Mr. Trenouth has led more than 200 operational due diligence (ODD) projects across sectors, focusing on industrial and FMCG assets and performance improvement opportunities within revenue optimisation, procurement, production, supply chain, R&D and SG&A. His most recent ODD projects include a global manufacturer of packaging machines, a global pumps and valves manufacturer and a major carve-out from a global CPG company. Recent post-deal transformation projects include a global health and beauty retailer with over 3,000 outlets worldwide and a $3 billion global CPG company.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Trenouth spent eight years as a Partner with L.E.K. Consulting in London. He led approximately 40 ODD projects for private equity and corporate clients, including Europe’s leading frozen food manufacturer, a major global publishing company, multiple marine safety equipment manufacturers, a wide range of logistics providers and a number of UK and global retailers. His ODD work included the evaluation of cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities.

Previously, Mr. Trenouth was a Director at iForce, the UK’s leading ecommerce logistics provider, where he helped move the PE-backed business from heavy loss making to sustainable profitability. Prior to that, Mr. Trenouth spent 10 years leading the operational consulting business Celerant as it grew from 20 to 800 consultants.

Mr. Trenouth earned a bachelor’s degree (first class) in chemistry and a PhD in quantum chemistry from Bristol University.
