Peggy Smyth
Ms. Smyth brings more than 30 years of finance, strategy, and governance experience across the global infrastructure, energy, and technology sectors. Her primary areas of concentration include transaction execution, financial and operational diligence, capital structuring, and governance for complex and cross-border investments.
Ms. Smyth leverages her extensive background as a CFO, board director, and audit chair to advise corporate and private equity clients undergoing transformational events—from M&A transactions to portfolio optimization and capital allocation. She has worked with clients across the energy transition, infrastructure, industrials, and consumer technology sectors, helping them enhance value creation and strengthen governance frameworks through disciplined financial oversight. An experienced public company director, Ms. Smyth serves as Audit Committee Chair for Etsy, Remitly, and Frontier Communications. She is also a board member for Renewa, a renewable land finance company.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Smyth served as a Partner with Queensland Investment Corporation’s (QIC’s) Global Infrastructure practice, where she oversaw investments across the North American energy and utility sectors, and was a board member for CenTrio Energy, a specialist in district energy. Earlier in her career, she held senior finance and strategy leadership roles at National Grid, Consolidated Edison, United Technologies Corporation, and 3M. In addition, Ms. Smyth previously served as a Senior Managing Partner at Deloitte and a Partner at Arthur Andersen, where she advised global clients on accounting, M&A integration, and risk management. She has driven large-scale integrations, managed multibillion-dollar capital programs, and implemented resiliency and digital transformation initiatives in regulated and competitive markets.
Ms. Smyth earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Fordham University and a master’s degree in accounting from New York University Stern School of Business. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and serves on the executive committee of the President’s Council at Fordham University, where she is also a trustee fellow. In addition, Ms. Smyth is a trustee of Catholic Guardian Services. A dual US and Irish citizen, she divides her time between New York and Ireland.
