Patrick O'Brien

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. O'Brien served as a Lending Officer with Wells Fargo Equipment Finance in Minneapolis. He was responsible for underwriting financial and operational risks, specializing in lending to leasing companies.
Mr. O'Brien is also the Co-Founder and former Co-Owner of Allegiance Financial Group in St. Paul, which provides commercial leases and loans for transportation equipment, including over-the-road tractors, trailers, construction equipment, motorcoaches, railroad, marine and aircraft. As the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Credit Officer, Mr. O'Brien oversaw partnerships with private equity groups for the purchase of distressed and credit sensitive portfolios. He was responsible for managing financial and operational due diligence and valuation, documentation and collateral perfection, portfolio servicing, collections, bankruptcy litigation, repossessions and equipment remarketing.
Mr. O’Brien previously served in various senior positions in credit management with Cargill Leasing, US Bancorp Equipment Finance and Firstar Equipment Finance, specializing in lending and leasing to the transportation sector. He supervised credit underwriting, documentation, collateral perfection, collections, bankruptcy litigation, repossessions and equipment remarketing.
Additionally, Mr. O'Brien held the role of National Bank Examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). He led and participated in bank examinations throughout the U.S. and gained extensive experience in bank supervision activities, with an emphasis on mortgage banking, retail credit, capital markets and commercial lending.
Mr. O'Brien earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Minnesota. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Minnesota. He is also a commissioned National Bank Examiner.
