Mr. Smith is a highly regarded expert in operational performance improvement, capital strategy and delivery, operating model design, corporate strategy, and procurement and supply chain transformations. With over 20 years of experience, he brings a pragmatic and practical approach to delivering real value for his clients.

Mr. Smith has led numerous high-impact initiatives, including the design and deployment of a project management operating system for a global miner with a $10 billion program of work and support to a global miner to deliver a $3.2 billion major capital project.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Smith held leadership roles across the mining and energy sectors, including a decade of hands-on operational experience with BHP and South32. During this time, he led technical, operational, and commercial teams, overseeing asset and business-wide transformations. His experience spanned strategy development, operational improvements, and cost-out transformations.

Mr. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in science in industrial chemistry from The University of Western Australia, an MBA (with distinction) from Curtin Graduate School of Business, Perth, and a graduate certificate in applied finance from Kaplan Professional, Australia.
