Christy Brunk is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Birmingham. She specializes in economic and real estate damages claims and Value Assurance Programs. Her primary areas of concentration are real estate market analysis and geographic information systems.

With more than 20 years of consulting experience, Ms. Brunk has advised clients on alleged property value diminution, class certification issues and settlement alternatives in class action and mass tort matters. Ms. Brunk has worked with clients across a range of industries, including heavy manufacturing, oil and gas and utilities. 

Ms. Brunk’s notable assignments include evaluating the effects of alleged air, soil and groundwater contamination on property values and use and enjoyment; developing and implementing a Value Assurance Program in response to alleged property value diminution; and serving as a court-appointed Settlement Administrator. Most recently, Ms. Brunk was responsible for analyzing and benchmarking the population of subsidized multifamily housing in response to a fair housing practices inquiry from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. 

Previously, Ms. Brunk has worked with GIS to help clients understand spatial and temporal relationships, evaluate potential class settlements and analyze real estate and environmental data. 

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Brunk spent five years with Accounting, Economics and Appraisal Group, where she most recently served as Managing Consultant. Previously, she worked with PwC Financial Advisory Services. 

Ms. Brunk earned a bachelor's and master's degree in finance from the University of Alabama. She also earned a certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University. Ms. Brunk is a licensed real estate salesperson in Alabama; holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation; and holds the Counselors of Real Estate designation. Additionally, she is a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors fellow.
