Mr. Gopiraj focuses on margin improvement, including operating model redesign, procurement optimization, and operational excellence. A consistent theme throughout his work is unlocking value through reshaping cost structures and optimizing capital deployment.
Mr. Gopiraj’s notable engagements include leading a $1 billion transformation at an energy supermajor, including over $300 million in capital optimization opportunities; conducting cost-saving diligence for a global packaging company focused on supply chain efficiencies; supporting due diligence for a mining client in the critical minerals sector targeting energy storage solutions; redesigning investment allocation for a generation retailer to accelerate renewables growth; and delivering market sizing and a go-to-market strategy for off-grid long-duration energy storage (LDES) for a battery manufacturer.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Gopiraj spent six years at McKinsey & Company advising energy and mining clients on margin improvement and capital excellence. He also held commercial, operational, and trading roles at ExxonMobil and Origin Energy, providing him with a practical, end-to-end understanding of the energy landscape.
Mr. Gopiraj earned bachelor’s degrees (with first-class honors) in chemical engineering and law from Monash University and an MBA from Melbourne Business School, where he was a Dean’s Scholar. He is a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and an admitted lawyer of The Supreme Court of Victoria.
