James Golden

Throughout Dr. Golden’s career, he has focused on building and leading organizations that utilize emerging computational technologies to address complex challenges in business and society. His focus is on using AI to create global early warning systems for risk quantification in finance and healthcare.
Dr. Golden’s notable assignments include working with biopharmaceutical companies such as Roche, Pfizer, and Eli Lilly to improve R&D innovation through computational biology and AI. Dr. Golden has worked with clients and investment groups, including hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital firms, across a range of industries including life sciences, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology.
Prior to joining A&M, Dr. Golden was the Chief Data Officer for The Rockefeller Foundation, where he designed its global platform for pandemic surveillance. Dr. Golden previously spent five years as a Senior Managing Director at PwC, where he served as the Global Lead for the AI and Life Sciences practice. Prior to that, Dr. Golden was the Chief Management Scientist for Accenture, helping lead its Pharmaceutical R&D practice. During his time at PwC and Accenture, he designed and developed data and analytics platforms for multiple biopharma R&D groups.
Dr. Golden earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Rhodes College, a master’s degree in computer science from The University of Tennessee, and a PhD in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University. He is also on the development board of the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis.
