Hong Kong, June 9, 2025 — Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelvin Cheong as a Senior Director within its North Asia Disputes and Investigations practice. Based in Hong Kong SAR, Mr. Cheong will support clients on disputes and investigations across the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong SAR and the wider Asia Pacific region.

With over 18 years of forensic accounting experience, Mr. Cheong specialises in fraud investigations, regulatory compliance reviews and dispute advisory. He has led complex investigations into financial statement fraud, misappropriation of funds, bribery and corruption issues, submitted expert evidence for commercial disputes in litigations and arbitrations, and given oral testimonies in English and Mandarin. His notable assignments include investigating multimillion-dollar embezzlements for financial institutions, multinational corporations and private equity firms and performing independent investigations for listed companies facing allegations of accounting fraud.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Cheong spent nearly 15 years with the Forensic Services practice of PwC China, where he most recently served as a Partner. During his tenure at PwC, he was stationed in Beijing, Hong Kong SAR and Shenzhen, supporting clients in various industries, including financial services, electronics, consumer products, industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and media & entertainment.

Mr. Cheong holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Corporate Finance from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in law (LLM) with a concentration in Arbitration & Dispute Resolution from the University of Hong Kong. He is a licensed CPA in the US and Hong Kong SAR and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He currently serves as a Director with the Hong Kong Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
