Gabriel Valtueña is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Infrastructure and Capital Projects in Madrid. He specializes in the origination and delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects, with deep expertise in public–private partnerships (PPPs). His primary areas of concentration are transportation infrastructure and renewable energy.

Mr. Valtueña brings 25 years of experience across the entire infrastructure lifecycle, including over 10 years in C-level positions at a global construction and infrastructure group, and seven years in strategic consulting, where he primarily advised private clients and public authorities in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Mr. Valtueña’s notable assignments include: developing and delivering an award-winning PPP project in the UK, which involved managing an investment of $650 million and a peak head count of more than 1,000; and heading up a consortium to design, build, finance, and maintain a landmark PPP project in Australia, with a total investment value of $1.3 billion.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Valtueña spent almost seven years with McKinsey & Company, where he co-led the Construction & Infrastructure practice in Iberia and helped numerous industry clients across the globe define and successfully implement their strategic plans. Before that, Mr. Valtueña spent 14 years at Cintra-Ferrovial, where he held roles as CEO, General Manager, and Director at subsidiaries in Spain, the UK, and Australia. He also worked for construction companies Dragados, ACS Construction Group, and Sando for a total of four years, overseeing the execution of several major motorways in Spain.

Mr. Valtueña earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a post-degree diploma from IESE Business School. He is a member of the Spanish Association of Civil Engineers.
