Filippo Gaddo is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Infrastructure & Capital Projects in London. He leads A&M’s U.K. Economics practice, and his primary areas of focus are economic policy and strategy, energy policy, market and regulatory due diligence, independent reviews, infrastructure advisory, and capital project strategy.

Mr. Gaddo has over 20 years’ experience of providing insights on economics, strategy, M&A, infrastructure due diligence, and energy to governmental entities and major consulting firms. He is also a frequent and recognized speaker at national and international conferences and advisory panels.

Notably, Mr. Gaddo has advised governments, C-suite executives, and board members on integrated energy transitions and investment strategy for new technologies, such as wind, solar, hydrogen, carbon capture, usage, and storage (CCUS), batteries, bioenergy, power, and gas grids.

Mr. Gaddo has also advised banks, financial institutions, and infrastructure entities on acquiring, selling and investing in assets in the energy, telecommunications, and water sectors, including supporting business transactions with high-value clients, such as Macquarie, J.P. Morgan, First Sentier Investors, PPL, and SSE, and in gas and power-regulated utilities and networks, such as Electricity North West, SGN, and National Gas. Major projects include: developing CCUS and hydrogen business models for the U.K. government; working on a commercial business case for the North Sea Energy Island for Ørsted; assessing energy efficiency and combined heat and power investments for Enel X; and developing a hydrogen business model for Kellas Midstream.

Prior to A&M, Mr. Gaddo was a Managing Director at Macro Advisory Partners, where he provided strategic advice on macroeconomic, geopolitical, climate, and energy trends. Previously, he served as Chief Economist and Transaction Advisory Leader at Arup. Mr. Gaddo began his career in the U.K. Civil Service as a Senior Economist in the Energy Policy team.

Mr. Gaddo earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Università di Trento and a master’s in international economics from the University of Nottingham. He is a Council Member of the Society of Professional Economists.
