Alston Kam is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Sydney. He specializes in employment taxes, with a particular focus on providing employment tax risk, governance, and compliance services, including engagement with state and federal tax authorities. Mr. Kam also has extensive experience advising on the employment tax implications of M&As and the delivery of superannuation and payroll remediation projects.

Mr. Kam has over 12 years of experience across Australia and the U.K., advising clients across all areas of employment tax. His clients operate in a variety of industries and sectors, including government, energy and resources, and financial services. 
Mr. Kam’s notable assignments include the delivery of employment tax compliance services (payroll tax and fringe benefits tax) for circa 45 New South Wales Government agencies and the delivery of large-scale superannuation remediation projects for clients within the financial services industry.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kam worked in the Sydney and London offices of two Big Four firms, serving most recently as a Director within the Workforce Advisory team at KPMG in Sydney.

Mr. Kam earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce (finance and accounting majors) from the University of Wollongong. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
