Emma Walker is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in London. She brings over 15 years of experience in financial crime advisory, investigations and financial services regulation.

Ms. Walker has led several engagements advising financial institutions on the enhancement of anti-money laundering, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption and sanctions compliance programs. She has advised on complex matters involving allegations of insider trading, market abuse, bribery and corruption, tax evasion and money laundering. Recently, Ms. Walker co-led an independent consultant team to monitor and assess compliance with an order issued by the Federal Reserve related to the OFAC sanctions compliance of a global systemically important bank.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Walker spent three years as a Managing Director in the Financial Crimes Risk Management practice of K2 Integrity in London, where she led several engagements for systemically important banks and other financial services firms.

Previously, Ms. Walker spent over 12 years at the Financial Conduct Authority and Financial Services Authority, where she was a technical specialist in the Enforcement and Market Oversight Division, providing legal and strategic advice on high-profile and complex enforcement investigations. She was also the lead FCA supervisor for a wholesale bank. Prior to the FSA, she was a senior prosecutor for two government departments, prosecuting several multimillion-pound matters involving offences of cheating the public revenue, fraud, conspiracy and money laundering.

Ms. Walker earned a bachelor’s degree in law (honours) from the University of Westminster. She is qualified as a barrister and completed her bar vocational course at the Inns of Court School of Law.
