Joseph C. Sponholz

Mr. Sponholz is recognized by CEO’s, cabinet secretaries and members of parliament as the go-to advisor for complex, high-stakes problem solving.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sponholz spent six years with LEK Consulting, serving most recently as Partner, Managing Director and Global Head of the Major Capital Projects Practice. He spearheaded performance improvement, business and operating model transformation initiatives and was a member of the Commercial Committee. He developed and embedded program management performance improvement initiatives required by a government-mandated review of a $AU34 billion rail freight infrastructure project and led a review of Australia’s largest metropolitan metro expansion project ($AU 22 billion) and developing and executing plans to remediate cost and schedule overruns.
Mr. Sponholz also supported the transformative Sydney Western Harbor Tunnel Project, leading the viability assessment and development of new financing, contracting, and risk schemes. He was a member of the EOI Evaluation Committee and spearheaded the planning and execution of a high-pressure intervention into the liquidity crisis and operating model transformation of the largest Australian superannuation fund.
Mr. Sponholz earned a bachelor's degree from New York University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He has completed executive education programs from Columbia University, Wharton School of Business, the Thunderbird School of International Management, and the Institute for Supply Chain Management. A member of the New York State Bar, he has been on the board of Paypa Plane, a leading international real-time payment technology provider for commercial, business, and institutional banks and was Board Chair of the Global Private Capital and Business Investment Fund Committees for Queensland Investment Corporation. An American, Australian and Irish citizen, he speaks English, French and Spanish.
