Jorge Gilabert is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Madrid. As Co-head of travel and hospitality in EMEA, he brings more than 15 years of experience in business consulting, focusing on corporate transformation, M&A strategy and execution, top-line growth and target operating models. Mr. Gilabert has worked with clients in various industries, including travel, hospitality, retail, consumer goods and fashion.
Mr. Gilabert has driven strategic transformations for tourism and hospitality companies, from brand repositioning to comprehensive operational and balance sheet restructuring. His track record includes leading major business turnarounds, delivering significant EBITDA growth while reducing net debt, and strengthening brand portfolios. He has also successfully led M&A processes, from programmatic M&A build-ups to full end-to-end M&A engagements, including commercial due diligence, carve-outs, and post-merger integrations.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Gilabert spent 12 years with Monitor Deloitte, serving as a Partner responsible for the consumer industries of the Spanish team. He has led projects across Europe, the U.S, the Middle East, China and Southeast Asia. In his later years at Deloitte, Mr. Gilabert led an initiative to coordinate the hospitality industry across the EMEA region and participated in several global hospitality initiatives.
Mr. Gilabert earned a master’s degree in telecommunications from BarcelonaTech (UPC - Barcelona) and a master’s thesis (honours) in data science from the University of Southern California. A Spanish national, he is fluent in Spanish, Catalan and English.
