Kasheen Grewal is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Hong Kong. She brings more than 15 years of regional experience in asset wealth management and mergers and acquisitions in Asia Pacific.

Ms. Grewal provides deal advisory tax support on investments to private equity funds, asset managers and pension and sovereign wealth funds in Asia Pacific. She offers cross-border transaction advisory support, including tax due diligence and vendor due diligence. Ms. Grewal’s work also involves international tax structuring including acquisition structuring, financing and rationalisation of group structures for private equity investments and multinational corporations.

Ms. Grewal advises clients in a wide range of industries on establishing direct investment, private equity and other investment funds in Hong Kong. She also advises clients on post-deal implementation and integration tax advice, leveraging her in-house industry experience and experience with tax-effective regional planning. She has specialist telecommunications knowledge gained from working at Telstra Corporation in Hong Kong, and Spark New Zealand.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Grewal was the Investment Tax Director for Asia with Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board. Previously, she was a Director in Asset Management and Private Equity with KPMG. She started her career with PwC New Zealand before moving to Hong Kong.

Ms. Grewal earned bachelor’s degrees in laws and money and finance and accountancy from Victoria University, New Zealand. She is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand (enrolled), a committee member and former committee co-chair of 100 Women in Finance (Hong Kong), an executive committee member of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, and a mentor with the Women's Foundation of Hong Kong.
