Megan Bennett is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Houston. She specializes in dispute analysis and forensic services. Her dispute analysis experience includes litigation consulting and pre-litigation financial analysis. She has performed forensic investigations into client identified company matters and in response to inquiries from various third parties, including federal and state regulatory bodies.

With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Bennett has provided consulting services to clients in a variety of circumstances, including projects involving large international arbitrations, accounting reconstructions, post-acquisition disputes, lost profit analyses, contract disputes, business interruption claims and other accounting and financial analyses. She has performed investigations into embezzlement of company funds by senior management, alleged employee theft or misuse of corporate assets and alleged breach of fiduciary responsibility. 

Additionally, Ms. Bennett has led numerous projects involving the analysis of large accounting data sets, journal entries and account balances to assess the nature and propriety of the underlying transaction, the proper accounting treatment and proposed correcting entries as necessary. 

Ms. Bennett provides valuation and expert services across a variety of industries, with an emphasis in the energy industry, including E&P, midstream, refining, power generation and oil field services. She has served as an independent arbitrator of U.S. GAAP disputes between parties on multiple occasions and has testified in state court in the U.S.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Bennett practiced dispute analysis with FTI Consulting and KPMG. She also practiced assurance with Arthur Andersen.

Ms. Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from Baylor University.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified in Financial Forensics by the AICPA.
