Luann Serafin is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Valuation Services in Washington, D.C. She provides financial modeling and valuation services to both the public and private sectors, specializing in federal credit programs. 

Ms. Serafin brings more than 22 years of financial consulting experience spanning financial modeling, credit analysis and valuation analysis. For 10 years she oversaw a team that provided financial modeling services to both the public and private sectors, assessing, building and providing recommendations to streamline and optimize three-statement financial models to support management planning needs for potential acquisitions and liquidity monitoring. The team also supported companies applying for U.S. federal loan and grant programs such as the ATVM loan program and Title VXII loan program within the Department of Energy Loan Programs Office and the CHIPS Program Office. 

For public sector clients, Ms. Serafin has performed financial modeling and credit analyses to determine financial viability. She has performed valuation services for privately held and publicly traded companies for financial reporting, tax reporting, fairness opinion, litigation, and management planning purposes. Ms. Serafin has worked with clients in various industries, including government contracting, technology, asset management, manufacturing, automotive (EV/EV supply chain), biotechnology, insurance, construction, healthcare, medical devices, nonprofit, private equity, renewable energy, retail, specialty chemicals and telecom. 

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Serafin spent 13 years with Grant Thornton’s Valuation & Modeling and Public Sector practices in Washington, D.C. serving most recently as a Managing Director. She started the valuation practice and ran the mid-Atlantic Valuation Practice and led Grant Thornton’s financial modeling efforts. Prior to Grant Thornton, Ms. Serafin worked for the Big Four as well as national valuation firms and a boutique investment bank. 

Ms. Serafin earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce (finance concentration) from the University of Virginia and an MBA from New York University (finance concentration. She is a member of the Washington, D.C. CFA Society and the Women’s Energy Network, D.C. Chapter. Ms. Serafin holds a chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation.
