Elise Cowan

With more than 12 years of valuation and financial modeling experience, Ms. Cowan has performed modeling services, specifically assessing, building and providing recommendations to streamline and optimize three-statement financial models to support management planning needs for potential acquisitions and liquidity monitoring. She has also supported companies applying to U.S. federal loan and grant programs such as the Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing loan program and Title VXII loan program within the Department of Energy Loan Programs Office and the funding programs within the CHIPS Program Office.
Ms. Cowan has performed valuation services for privately-held and publicly traded companies, financial reporting, tax reporting, fairness opinion, litigation and management planning purposes. She has performed valuations for U.S. GAAP, U.K. GAAP and IFRS standards, including purchase price allocations, goodwill and indefinite-lived asset impairment testing, long-lived asset impairment testing, fair value measurement and reorganization.
Ms. Cowan has worked with clients across various industries, including asset management, automotive, banking, beauty and cosmetic products, biotechnology, building component manufacturing, business services, construction, consumer products, federal government, government contractors, healthcare, heavy equipment, industrial chemicals, insurance, medical devices, minerals mining and exploration, not for profit, oil and gas exploration and production, oil and gas midstream, oilfield services, pharmaceutical manufacturing, private equity, renewable energy, retail, specialty chemicals, telecommunications, technology and warehousing.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Cowan spent 12 years with Grant Thornton’s Valuation Services in Houston, London, New York and Washington, where she most recently served as Senior Manager. She oversaw the maintenance of and improvement to the Valuation Services practice’s business valuation model template both during her time in the London office and for the U.S. practice.
Ms. Cowan earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in finance from Louisiana State University. She is a member of Women’s Energy Network, D.C. Chapter and Junior League of Washington and holds an Accredited in Business Valuation designation.
