Mark Sugrue

With more than 30 years of nursing and healthcare provider experience, Mr. Sugrue develops healthcare transformation strategies to improve overall performance. He advises provider organizations on clinical, operational, and digital health innovation strategies for growth.
Working closely with C-suite executives and boards of directors for hospitals and health systems, Mr. Sugrue delivers transformation strategies to improve performance, including quality, safety, operational, and financial improvements. He also works on implementing digital and innovation strategies to achieve business goals.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sugrue was a Managing Director with FTI Consulting in the Health Solutions practice and led the Digital Health practice. Previously, he was the Chief Nursing Information Officer and Associate Chief Nurse for Professional Practice at the Lahey Clinic (now the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center) and at UMass Memorial Health. He was also the founder of Think First, a boutique consulting firm focused on healthcare transformation for health systems and physician practice management companies.
Mr. Sugrue earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a master’s degree in nursing administration as a Registered Nurse from Regis College. He is a fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), serves on its Global Board of Directors, and is a former Chair of the HIMSS Americas Advisory Board. A nationally and internationally recognized speaker, author, and thought leader in nursing informatics, his contributions include textbook chapters on telehealth, system selection, and other emerging technologies.
