Ashley Scheele

Leading teams across the U.S., Ms. Scheele manages license transitions, entity registration/deregistration and license compliance across a wide range of industries. She brings years of experience supporting client licensing needs during bankruptcies, M&A transactions and internal restructurings. With a Green Belt in Six Sigma, Ms. Scheele manages large volumes of license changes over short time frames.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Scheele was the National Practice Leader for Ernst & Young’s License Compliance Services, where she successfully built and grew the practice, leading teams across the U.S. and within EY’s talent hub in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
With over 25 years of experience in Big Four public accounting, Ms. Scheele developed a broad-based skill set over the course of her career. She spent the early part of her career developing expertise in a variety of multi-state tax issues, specializing in state income tax audit defense and restructuring engagements for multinational clients. Ms. Scheele spent three years with Financial Services in New York City, providing tax consulting and compliance for alternative investment funds. She effected tax law change, participating in a task force that met with representatives from the U.S. Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service, resulting in the issuance of a Revenue Procedure that aided alternative investment funds. During her tenure in the Big Four, Ms. Scheele successfully built and grew two national practices.
Ms. Scheele earned a master’s degree in taxation and a BBA (concentration in accounting) from Texas A&M University. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas and a member of the AICPA and TXCPA. Ms. Scheele is a frequent presenter at various national conferences, such as the American Petroleum Institute, the Federation of Tax Administrators, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation and Avalara’s annual conferences. She was a speaker at the Concordia America’s Summit in Bogotá, Columbia, presenting on how tax differentiation can drive innovation. Ms. Scheele has authored several Tax Alerts and was published twice in the Journal of Financial Products. She also serves on the Advisory Board for Child Advocates in Houston, Texas.
