Pierre Légaré

With a specialized focus on capital project development and over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Mr. Légaré is a seasoned professional with expertise in managing engineering, procurement and construction projects across diverse environments, including cold weather, tropical, arid and remote regions worldwide. His proven track record attests to his proficiency in effectively managing a spectrum of challenges within the infrastructure and capital projects industry.
Mr. Légaré's primary areas of concentration encompass mining, infrastructure, transportation and real estate. He has successfully led projects of varying types, complexity and scale, ensuring alignment with client and stakeholder requirements, while effectively managing cost, schedule, quality and scope. His adeptness in interacting with subcontractors contributes significantly to project success.
Mr. Légaré’s notable assignments include serving as the project director for a greenfield copper mine in Panama, with capital costs exceeding $5.0 billion, as well as a greenfield nickel mine in Madagascar, involving more than $4.0 billion in capital costs. He is regularly sought after to lead as a project director for the recovery of distressed state projects, such as a $1.2 billion gold mine development in northern Ontario. Under Mr. Légaré’s leadership, this project was completed within the re-baselined budget, achieving commercial production two weeks ahead of schedule.
Furthermore, in the commercial construction and light industrial sectors, Mr. Légaré has directly overseen the construction of 15+ projects, encompassing warehouses, commercial complexes and recreational facilities.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Légaré spent over 10 years serving as the President and Co-founder of a boutique project management consulting practice in Canada. Previously, he founded and established a project management and asset management company in Russia, where he operated successfully for over eight years. Mr. Legare's extensive career also includes over 20 years in senior roles at SNC-Lavalin, culminating in his position as Vice-President of Projects in the Mining & Metallurgy division.
