Sam Jones is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in Chicago. He specializes in providing financial, accounting and business due diligence services to financial sponsors and strategic investors.

Mr. Jones focuses on transactions involving financial services companies, including registered investment advisors, broker dealers, asset management firms, banks, specialty finance companies, payment processors and financial technology firms. He is an expert in assessing and establishing companies’ quality of revenue and earnings and advising clients on net working capital, regulatory capital, indebtedness and other purchase price adjustment provisions.

Additionally, Mr. Jones has extensive experience leveraging A&M’s data and analytics capabilities to synthesize companies’ financial and operational data into organic growth and profitability KPIs and assisting management teams in optimizing their financial reporting capabilities.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Jones served in the Deal Advisory practice of KPMG LLP, where he specialized in the financial services industry. He began his career in the financial services assurance practice at KPMG LLP.

Mr. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy (cum laude), from Miami University (Ohio). He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Illinois.
