Chris George is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in Boston. He leads the group’s health systems practice.

With more than 30 years of leadership experience across academic, community, and for-profit health systems, as well as large physician organizations, Mr. George partners with C-suite executives and boards of directors to drive enterprise-wide transformation and financial performance improvement.

Mr. George specializes in helping hospitals, health systems, and physician organizations navigate margin pressure, redesign care delivery, and implement digital and innovation strategies that deliver measurable outcomes. His approach is rooted in execution—aligning strategy to results through practical, action-oriented solutions tailored to each organization’s unique needs.

Before joining A&M, Mr. George served as Senior Managing Director and Commercial Healthcare Practice Leader at FTI Consulting. He also founded Think First, a boutique advisory firm focused on provider enterprise transformation. Earlier in his career, he held executive roles at the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and in provider consulting for GE Healthcare (formerly IDX Systems).

Mr. George earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Stonehill College and a master’s degree in computer information systems from Bentley University. He previously served on the finance committee of Beth Israel Lahey Health, a 13-hospital system in the Boston area.
