Scott Magit is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Health Industry Group in Boston. He brings 27 years of experience with payor and provider financial and operational relationships.

Mr. Magit specializes in provider network operations, payor and provider contractual relationships, fee-for-service and advanced reimbursement methodologies, payment policy and payment integrity.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Magit spent 10 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) in Boston, serving most recently as Vice President of Payment Strategy and Integrity. He was reponsible for the strategic leadership of BCBSMA’s provider reimbursement methodologies, payment systems, payment policies, enterprise payment integrity, enterprise coding and utilization trend management.

Prior to that, Mr. Magit led a similar organization for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care for nearly a decade. He began his professional career as a management consultant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Ernst & Young (E&Y) in their National Healthcare Consulting Practices.

Mr. Magit earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in health systems administration from Suffolk University. He is a graduate of the executive leadership program (ELP) through America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and is a Certified Health Insurance Executive (CHIE). Mr. Magit has been a member of the Board of Directors of Rodman for Kids.
