Mike Murnan is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Chicago. With over 25 years of progressive consulting experience, he specializes in pre-acquisition IT due diligence, synergy analysis, stand-alone assessments and post-acquisition integration, IT strategic planning, systems implementation and integration, and interim management. 

Mr. Murman’s primary areas of concentration are software technology companies and technology-enabled organizations. He brings deep experience in IT projects and corporate executive leadership and provides IT management and advisory services to technology leaders that result in improved business operations. 

Mr. Murnan’s notable assignments include developing the carve-out and performance improvement plan for the production engineering groups of a digital marketing platform and services company, resulting in over $24 million in annualized cost savings. 

Previously, Mr. Murnan handled TSA development for a complex divestiture of a carve-out from a carve-out—the Yankees Sports Network (YES) from Fox Sports (acquired by Sinclair), which was being divested by FoxNews Corp and Disney. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Murnan served as a Director of Information Systems for ExactTarget, a rapidly growing software-as-a-service marketing platform company, and as CIO for Author Solutions, the world’s largest print-on-demand self-publishing company. There, he co-invented the patented Project Publishing System and Method for self-published books and articles, as described in the U.S. Patent Application Publication US 2009/0112652 A1. 

Mr. Murnan earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Purdue University.
