Mr. Roland specializes in pre-acquisition planning and diligence and post-close planning and execution for mergers, acquisitions, and carve-outs. He helps clients realize real business value in accelerated timeframes. He has worked with clients in various industries, including technology, media, telecom, power generation, utilities, aerospace and defense and professional services.
Mr. Roland's recent notable engagements include leading the separation management office (SMO) for the operational carve-out of a leading content, platform, and service provider to the sports betting industry across the technology operations, information technology, human resources, finance, and regulatory and compliance functions. This effort established a standalone business at transaction close, optimizing labor and non-labor costs and recurring capital expenditures.
Mr. Roland has led the planning and execution of numerous carve-out and merger integration projects. He provided approach, tools, and governance to quickly stand-up integration management offices (IMO) and SMOs and worked with financial sponsors, executives, integration leaders and teams to translate business strategies into execution plans then realize them.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Roland served as Group Assistant Vice President with ABB Ltd., leading the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture initiatives that enabled business unit leaders across four divisions to re-shape their portfolios, accelerate growth, and galvanize global markets. Previously, he worked with United Technologies Corporation Corporate Strategy & Development practice, supporting strategic growth studies, building acquisition pipelines, and providing M&A transaction support for six divisions, including valuations for public and private targets worth up to $20 billion.
Mr. Roland earned an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
