Most recently at A&M, Dr. Mansoor assisted the venture capital arm of a sovereign wealth fund, redesigning the pre-investment risk management framework for a key portfolio. Using a risk-based approach, he implemented a customized and proportionate solution in line with the firm and portfolio risk appetite. Previously, Dr. Mansoor reviewed and updated the loan origination process for an embedded finance solution offered by a large European bank. Keeping in view the offering’s uniqueness and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, he developed a scalable solution that provided milestones for growing the portfolio in a risk-controlled manner.
Dr. Mansoor frequently helps institutions review and revise their risk and compliance policy framework, ensuring they are aligned with regulatory requirements and the firm’s governance. He has also advised clients on the design and implementation of governance and control frameworks, with the aim of ensuring effective oversight and compliance with regulatory obligations.
Prior to joining A&M, Dr. Mansoor held dual positions as an Endowed Chair Fellow (Law and Governance) and a Research Fellow at the Centre for European Financial Services Law of the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.
Dr. Mansoor has also held visiting fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and the University of Oxford. His research focused on the governance of European financial markets; impact of EU financial services laws on contractual arrangements; and comparative analysis of public policy limitations on contracts.
Dr. Mansoor earned a bachelor’s degree (honours) from the University of London, an LLM from the University of Aberdeen, and a Ph.D. degree in comparative law from the University of Groningen. He is an Assistant Professor at the Hazelhoff Centre for Financial Law of the University of Leiden, the Netherlands.
