With more than 25 years of service in the Australian Army, Mr. Firth saw active service in Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and across South Asia and the South Pacific in Timor-Leste, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Malaysia and Thailand. As an Army Logistician, he commanded on operations, managed Middle East contracting for the Australian Defense Force and later served on secondment to the U.S. Army G-3-5-7 as the Director of Logistics and later Director Strategy for a multinational security cooperation program that included the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Most recently, Mr. Firth was responsible for master planning and initial design of a new military Smart City for a Middle Eastern ally of the U.S. and has delivered financial and ERP reform to the United States Transportation Command.
Mr. Firth’s notable assignments include leading a team that secured a $2.25 billion investment in Australian military training areas by the Singaporean Defense Force. As the Director Infrastructure for the Australian Army in Townsville, he was responsible for regional building projects totaling $270 million, including a redevelopment of the Townsville Port to accept Navy amphibious ships. While deployed to the Middle East, Mr. Firth was responsible for rebalancing Australian Forces from Kuwait to the UAE, while continuing to support active operations in Afghanistan.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Firth spent 18 months with Grant Thornton Public Sector in Arlington, Virginia, where he most recently served as a Director within the Defense and Security Sector, with a focus on army strategy, organizational reform and technology adoption.
Mr. Firth earned a bachelor’s degree in politics from the Australian Defense Force Academy and three master’s degrees in business, strategy and management and project management from the University of New South Wales (Sydney and Canberra Campuses).
