With more than 18 years of experience, Dr. Alnajjar brings an extensive background in public, private and third sectors. He has worked across a range of industries, including oil and gas, nuclear energy, tourism and hospitality, social sector, sport, community engagement, construction, airlines, media and real estate.
Dr. Alnajjar's areas of expertise include strategy, capital and special projects, public policy development, business planning, performance management, business processes improvement, change management, risk management and sustainability.
Prior to joining A&M, Dr. Alnajjar was responsible for establishing and directing three core divisions at the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development, heading several key strategic projects, while developing various public policies, strategies, guidelines and frameworks. He was also the head of planning for the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism and was responsible for developing the region's first Civilian Nuclear Energy Strategy.
Additionally, Dr. Alnajjar managed and undertook a wide range of capital and special projects in different roles, with projects valued at up to $150 million among various industries and functions. He started his career with EY and believes in continuous learning and education through the ongoing development of skills, abilities and knowledge.
Dr. Alnajjar earned a doctorate in business (concentration in high-performance organization) from the Swiss Business School in Zurich. He also holds several professional certifications, including Kaplan & Norton Balanced Scorecard, Change Management, Strategic Planner and Chief Innovation Officer.
