Matthew Roche is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax, LLC in Chicago. He specializes in designing and developing technology-based tax solutions that increase efficiencies, drive new business, and empower the A&M Tax professional.

Mr. Roche brings 20 years of experience in software architecture and development, leading software development teams, and deploying solutions at scale. His broad experience across a variety of tax business units allows him to bridge the gap between the tax and technology worlds.

Mr. Roche also has experience leading enterprise tax technology efforts such as workflow solutions, client collaboration platforms, and analytics systems.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Roche worked with PwC, where he built software for all aspects of the tax practice, working with PwC partners and clients to identify needs, envision solutions, and deliver technology at scale.

Mr. Roche earned a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from the University of Michigan. He holds an IRS enrolled agent credential.
