A&M’s Managing Director Keith Williamson and Senior Director Henry Chambers were invited by Tom Fox, Founder of the Compliance Podcast Network, to discuss Threatscape 2022, a report that examines risks in FCPA investigations, data privacy and protection and digital asset fraud, on the FCPA Compliance Report Podcast.
Keith Williamson expects to see a significant uptick in cross-border FCPA investigations in a post-COVID world because of renewed enforcement from the US and a backlog of corporate investigations. He also spoke about the key challenges brought on cross-border forensic investigations by new Chinese laws on data transfers, and how his team has adapted to overcome them. Speaking on digital assets, Henry Chambers recognises that regulators are struggling to catch up with this rapidly developing sector and advocates for a global regulatory approach to be taken. Corporates and individuals must ensure that AML CTF and KYC controls are in place to screen digital assets before reaching their wallets.
