Bill Besancon

Mr. Besancon brings more than 15 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, financial and management reporting, strategic business plan development, finance back-office process improvement, cost savings initiatives and technical accounting matters, including Securities and Exchange Commission reporting. With A&M, he has served as Strategic Advisor to boards and executive management, developing and implementing enterprise risk management strategies spanning credit, market, liquidity and operational risks.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Besancon served as Senior Director of FP&A at Conn’s HomePlus, transforming the finance and accounting functions for the retailer and consumer lender. In this role, he led the strategic budgeting, forecasting and operational planning. He drove significant process improvement efforts within FP&A, financial reporting and credit accounting teams, including organizational restructuring, the implementation of new enterprise resource planning and loan servicing systems and adoption of new accounting standards.
Previously, Mr. Besancon served in A&M’s Financial Industry Advisory Services practice and Deloitte in London and Washington, D.C. At Deloitte, he served as a trusted Advisor to executives in a global bank insolvency proceedings through valuation analysis and was appointed a valuation expert in mediation meetings with counterparties and their legal advisors. He specialized in valuation of derivatives and other financial instruments and assisted companies across various industries (banking, insurance, telecom, auto and real estate) implement treasury risk management and hedging strategies. Additionally, Mr. Besancon was involved in Deloitte’s financial services audit practice and was responsible for managing and executing the audits of large SEC registrants.
Mr. Besancon earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.
