Yann Varin

At A&M, Mr. Varin's notable engagements include designing a VCP for a European leader in multi-technical services in energy and construction to transform its target operating model. The new plan was well-balanced, including G&A cost reduction, improvement of building systems projects profitability, structural transformation (BU, warehouses and offices merger), direct staff cost reduction and reduction of purchasing costs. He prepared a detailed roadmap to implement quick wins and structural initiatives within 18 to 24 months.
Additionally, Mr. Varin worked on operational due diligences for private equity funds, reviewing operations of target companies, identifying value creation levers and quantifying achievable savings related to each function (R&D, sourcing, manufacturing and assembly, marketing and sales and after-sale services). He led the sales force effectiveness workstream on one ODD (revenues of €120 million), identifying €10 million in potential sales improvement.
Previously, Mr. Varin worked on a value creation plan for an office supply B2B and BTC company with revenues of €450 million. He assessed the salesforce effectiveness to quantify the right number of people assigned to each customer segment and geography, quantifying a total of 23 initiatives across all workstreams and identifying €30 million in EBITDA improvement.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Varin spent four years with Mars & Co, an international strategy consulting firm with Fortune 500 clients. He worked on 13 projects for nine customers on matters including corporate strategy, purchasing, pricing, organization, acquisition and competitive analysis.
Mr. Varin earned a master’s degree in theoretical physics from ENS Cachan. A French national, he is fluent in English.
