HHS OIG Audits Impact on MAPD Health Plans and At-Risk Provider Groups
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) has been focusing on Medicare Advance (MA) organizations operations, resulting in increasing compliance audits. The most recent audits have been different from what organizations have seen previously, and are looking at specific conditions and diseases where HHS-OIG suspects may have the possibility of errors.
Previously, HHS-OIG has not had a focus on MA organizations, so adjusting for this heightened scrutiny is something that MA leadership and boards needs to pay close attention to. In this podcast, A&M Healthcare Industry Group Managing Director and Co-Head of Health Plans and Managed Care Practice, Ron Vance, sits down with A&M's Kirk Shanks, Director, to learn more about this increased focus and how MA organizations can prepare and mitigate risk for future audits.
