Daniel Schmeltz

With over 12 years of management consulting experience, Mr. Schmeltz primarily helps clients with organization, process and cost transformations. His expertise includes organization operating model transformations, operations and G&A cost take-out, and service delivery optimization. Recently, Mr. Schmeltz led a $65 million corporate transformation for an independent single basin exploration and production company, including a new operating model, service delivery optimization and sourcing cost reduction.
Mr. Schmeltz’ notable assignments include leading an enterprise-wide corporate transformation for a global refining and petrochemical services provider, including developing and deploying a new operating model for both their domestic and international operations and support functions. He led their $140 million cost takeout initiatives, assisting the diligence on their new capital restructuring and launching their consolidated operations service delivery model.
Additionally, Mr. Schmeltz led a PE-backed elevator services roll-up to consolidate 20+ acquired business units and identified a 10% EBITDA improvement plan, including pricing optimization, shared services strategy, route planning and consolidated operations delivery model. He also supported the integration and divestiture planning activities for an oilfield service acquisition. His work was focused on real estate planning in assisting the business’ real estate portfolio, data and system integration and site consolidation planning.
At an onshore exploration and production company, Mr. Schmeltz assisted in improving their field data collection processes from the production field to the end users in accounting and engineering. This included process mapping current field data processes; developing and managing process improvement plans; and assisting in a field data capture software vendor selection. He also implemented a valve procurement and repair process for a super-major oil and gas company’s offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. His responsibilities included assisting the project and change management activities to ensure a successful transition to the new processes.
Mr. Schmeltz earned a bachelor’s degree in science in industrial and systems engineering from Texas A&M University.
