José Golffier is Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Finance and Restructuring in Mexico.

With more than 25 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer in investment banking and corporate finance, Mr. Golffier has carried out numerous equity and debt financing transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions in Mexico, Colombia, the U.S. and Latin America.

Most recently, Mr. Golffier has been actively involved in various corporate finance and restructuring initiatives. His notable engagements include providing strategic advisory services to a major Mexican retail chain in northwest Mexico in connection with its stake in a joint venture with another one of the country's largest retailers; leading an equity and debt raising initiative for a top B2B payment processor; providing guidance during an M&A process related to the potential strategic acquisition of a key wholesaler by a major retail chain in the northwest of Mexico; and leading the out-of-court restructuring efforts for a high-end multipurpose real estate development located in central Mexico.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Golffier served as CFO of Grupo Viva Aerobus and Grupo IAMSA, where he was responsible for the FP&A strategies of both groups. He oversaw the financial planning, treasury, accounting, fleet acquisition, legal and human resources areas. Mr. Golffier led a $150 million capitalization for the airline during COVID-19.

Previously, Mr. Golffier was Managing Partner of LEFFOND Capital. He also collaborated as CFO in MediAccess, where he led the sale of the company to a new investment group. Additionally, Mr.  Golffier was responsible for the M&A area of GE Capital in Latin America, where he led the acquisitions of Banco Colpatria (Colombia) and Banco Bamer (Honduras). Before that, he was Director of INTEL, where he was responsible for INTEL Capital's venture capital and private equity investments in Latin America. Mr. Golffier started his career with Banco Santander in New York and Mexico.

Mr. Golffier earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from ITESM and an MBA from the University of Texas, at Austin. He has also completed various senior management programs from IPADE and Harvard Business School.
