ALVAREZ & MARSAL ANNOUNCES VACCINATION POLICY FOR ALL U.S. EMPLOYEES
New York – August 17, 2021 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) made the following announcement to all U.S. employees on August 16, 2021 regarding its vaccination policy.
The firm conducted a survey of all employees throughout the United States. Results of the survey indicated that 92% of its employees were already vaccinated or will be by September 1, 2021, while 8% indicated that they would not be vaccinated or chose not to respond.
The most recent CDC data shows that 194 million Americans have been vaccinated and only 7,100 of vaccinated Americans have been hospitalized. In other words, one out of every 27,700 vaccinated Americans have been hospitalized. These facts make it clear that vaccinations are extremely effective.
Since the onset of the pandemic, A&M’s number one goal has been to ensure the health and well-being of ALL of its people, while simultaneously operate its business. This goal has been the firm’s guidepost in developing its vaccination policy laid out below.
Vaccination Policy for Employees:
- All vaccinated employees must provide proof of vaccination before September 7. Employees will receive an email from A&M HRIS asking them to upload your vaccination card and information securely into Workday.
- All vaccinated employees must show up for work in our offices on September 7. Only vaccinated employees and visitors who show proof of vaccination will be allowed to enter A&M’s offices.
- All unvaccinated employees should continue to work remotely and should immediately contact their Division Head or Corporate Function Head to inform them of their future vaccination plans.
- Unvaccinated employees have 75 days to get vaccinated and show proof of vaccination. Any remaining unvaccinated employees will be placed on unpaid leave of absence beginning October 31 for up to 6 months. Exceptions will be granted for pregnant women. Exceptions will be considered upon request for medical reasons or deeply held religious beliefs but there is no assurance that they will be granted. We will continue to provide full medical benefits during period of leave of absence. Anyone showing proof of vaccination during their leave of absence period will be immediately reinstated.
This pandemic has presented us with challenges, and developing our vaccination policy as we reopen our offices has been a difficult decision to make. In reaching this decision, we were driven by one main consideration - the health of all of our employees.
