Emily Edwards is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Atlanta. She specializes in state and local tax. Ms. Edwards has almost 10 years of experience helping businesses navigate the complex landscape of multistate tax issues and advising clients on various aspects of state and local tax planning.

Ms. Edwards has worked with clients across a variety of industries, including software, consumer retail, banking, and manufacturing. She has also advised clients on the state tax impacts of restructuring transactions and bankruptcy proceedings and has experience managing tax claims for large corporate debtors during bankruptcy and post-emergence.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Edwards spent four years on the U.S. National Fencing Team. As a member of the Women’s Sabre squad, she represented the U.S. at national and international competitions. 

Ms. Edwards earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, a JD from Georgia State University College of Law, and an MBA from Georgia State University Robinson College of Business. She is a member of the Georgia Bar.
