Rodrigo Carrillo is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in Houston. He brings more than 18 years of supply chain, operations, and manufacturing experience.

Mr. Carrillo specializes in corporate transformations and operational improvement engagements across the consumer products, industrial, automotive, high-tech, pharma, power, and energy industries. He provides hands-on leadership, services, and expertise in supply chain improvement, nearshoring and optimal cost country sourcing, SIOP optimization, cost takeout, M&As and carve-outs, product development and lifecycle management improvement, and technology transformations.

Mr. Carrillo’s notable engagements include serving as interim COO, leading over 750 people (across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada) and driving the optimization of the operations, supply chain, quality, safety, and IT teams, at a $600 million multinational transportation and logistics company for the auto industry; serving as interim Chief Supply Chain Officer, driving supply chain recovery efforts across manufacturing facilities, as well as the North America, Southeast Asia, and Latin America supply base, to drive a 2X growth capacity, redesign the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, eliminate $120 million of overdue invoices, and design the nearshoring strategy (Southeast Asia to Latin America) at a $1.1 billion global manufacturer of automotive components; and leading the carve-out and stand-up operations and technology of three nuclear and two fossil plants of a $10.7 billion bankrupt power generating company.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Carrillo worked in the semiconductor industry with Applied Materials, where he led the legacy process improvement initiatives for the largest 300mm epitaxy product line ($420 million in annual sales); drove the manufacturing stand-up and readiness initiatives of three new products; and implemented several Lean and continuous improvement initiatives at the U.S. manufacturing plants to increase capacity and improve process efficiency.

Mr. Carrillo earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He has completed the Chief Operating Officer Leadership Program at Stanford University. He is a certified Project Management Professional and Lean Six Sigma.
