Alvarez & Marsal Makes Senior Hire In Its Disputes and Investigations Practice in China

The appointment of Frankie Leung strengthens the firm’s regional forensic and investigative accounting capabilities.

Hong Kong/Shanghai – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has bolstered its regional forensic accounting and investigative capabilities with the appointment of Frankie Leung as Managing Director in China. This appointment marks a significant senior hire for A&M’s Disputes and Investigations practice in China and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to maximizing value for clients amid increasing demand for forensic investigations and accounting services.

Mr. Leung brings over 20 years of established expertise in forensic and investigative accounting on behalf of both Chinese and multi-national corporates, audit committees and external legal counsels in China and across the Asia Pacific region. He focuses on corporate investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) reviews, compliance framework assessments, and distributor and supplier reviews. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Leung was a Partner in the Forensic and Disputes Services team at EY China, and he held various senior positions at Deloitte’s Forensic team.

“Frankie is an important addition to our Disputes and Investigations practice in China. He joins the firm at a crucial time as the comprehensive economic impact of COVID-19 is emerging. Frankie’s extensive track record in forensic investigations and accounting is an invaluable resource for our clients who are dealing with unprecedented challenges in this region alongside the ongoing need to maximize value,” said Keith Williamson, Managing Director at A&M Asia and Head of Disputes and Investigations Asia . “Based upon our strategic talent expansion plan to help address the market’s growing forensic investigations and accounting needs, we anticipate more than half of our new hires to be in China over the next two years.”

“As companies around the world and in China continue to experience an increasingly distressed playing field, due to risk and rapidly evolving regulatory environments, the fight against fraud, bribery and corruption intensifies,” said Mr. Leung. “A&M’s operational heritage and commitment to leadership, action and results aligns with my approach to helping clients solve for complex problems and drive change.”
