Katya Umanskaya

With more than 20 years of experience as a tax advisor Ms. Umanskaya brings multi-jurisdictional, multi-tax experience, the ability to translate complex ideas and transactions into practical steps for clients, knowledge of cross-functional dependencies, and the ability to anticipate and manage stakeholders’ expectations, including C-suite.
Ms. Umanskaya has served as a tax advisor and interim internal tax director for public and privately held entities in a variety of industries, including technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, pharma, media, consumer products and energy. She also assists clients with their tax provision and tax compliance needs.
Most recently, Ms. Umanskaya implemented a $2 billion carve-out and sale for a multinational group across approximately 40 countries.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Umanskaya spent 19 years as part of PwC’s global tax practice, working in Russia, Australia, and the U.S. She served most recently as a Director in PwC’s Deals and National Tax Accounting practices.
Ms. Umanskaya earned a bachelor's degree in economics and a master’s degree in tax from the Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation and a master’s degree in tax from the University of Sydney. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the states of California and Oregon.
